Alex Baker, Alyx Holcombe & Nels Hylton to Host HMA23

 

The Heavy Music Awards 2023 hosting line-up has been announced, featuring three huge names from the UK rock scene.

Hosting on stage throughout the event, Alex Baker returns as host of the HMAs for a fourth time to lead festivities at the OVO Arena Wembley on Friday 26 May. The Kerrang! Radio mainstay said, "I am absolutely stoked to be back for another year, hosting an event that I so passionately believe in.

"It's been a genuine pleasure to be a part of The HMAs as it’s grown and grown each year... and walking out on stage at Wembley this year is going to be something else.

"The nominees are utter FIRE and I can't wait to share such a special evening with the best music fans on earth.”

The red carpet and backstage interviews, which will appear on both the Knotfest live stream and on social networks, will be fronted by two of BBC Radio 1's most exciting new names, Alyx Holcombe and Nels Hylton.

BBC Introducing Host Alyx, said, "I'm absolutely stoked to be hosting the red carpet and backstage interviews at the Heavy Music Awards this year - aaaaand at Wembley?! Madness. The HMAs have finally got the huge arena they deserve for the best night celebrating alternative music."

Nels, who hosts the station's Future Alternative show as well as the acclaimed Upgrade showcase nights in London, added, "The Heavy Music Awards is fast becoming one of the leading award shows in music and I am so excited to be a part of it this year! Putting rock music on the map has always been a personal dream of mine and being able to see this come together will be incredible."
